Skills Scotland is the biggest hands-on, have a go, interactive, exciting careers event in Scotland.
Whatever career you’re interested in, there will be something for you at Skills Scotland from aerospace engineer to zoologist, chef to therapist, midwife to financial advisor.

When?
Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 November 2011 between 9.30am - 3pm.
How?
When you arrive at Skills Scotland you’ll need to find your own way around, so a bit of planning and preparation means you can target what you want to see.
Have a Plan - start thinking about who you want to meet and what questions you want to ask.
Don’t be afraid – everyone there wants to meet you and chat about careers and opportunities.
Get involved – this is your chance to have a go and try out your future career. 
Don’t just collect bags and brochures and leave them to rot in your room, share the information with parents and friends and you might find they can help you get where you want to be.

Coming to an event can seem like a just a day out of school but Skills Scotland is packed full of exciting and interactive stands. Your future matters so find out what your options are and if you’re interested ask questions.

Before you come along it can help to think about some questions this will help you get the most out of Skills Scotland.
Where do you want to work? Indoors or outdoors?
Do you want to work for a big organisation or a small company?
Do you want to do something practical?
What subjects do you enjoy (make a list) and what job would suit me?
How can you get a qualification without going to college?
Do you want to do highers then go to university, what course would be best?
Where can you get training?
Will there be a job at the end of the training?
What skills and qualifications are needed for different jobs?
How much can you earn when training?
How much can you earn when qualified?
Where do you want to be in ten years time?
Enjoy your visit
We want you to enjoy your visit so please don’t act in a way that reflects badly on your school or college. Ensure know where you are meeting (this must be inside the hall) and when.
We’re sure no one will let themselves down, but abusive or unacceptable behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and if observed or reported you will be asked to leave.
