Get a makeover finding out about careers in beauty therapy, fix a car finding out about a career in motor mechanics, blow your top finding out about careers in chemistry. Wherever you want to go in the future, find your route at Skills Scotland.

You can visit Skills Scotland at any time. With so much to see we offer special staggered slots for big groups so everyone gets a chance to try the interactive features. We recommend visiting the event for approximately two hours.
Get inspired with great interaction
Loads of the companies will be there wanting you to get involved in their demonstrations and activities. Many of them are running competitions so you can have fun and try to win some great prizes.

Different companies and employers, colleges and universities, training providers and expert advisers will be there ready to help you find the right route to your perfect career. So if you are looking for a job when you leave school, or you want to discover the best college course, or just need some help and advise come along.
The event is the place to try out your future and get hands on with the exciting demonstrations. You can have a go at different activities from a range of careers, so wherever you want to go in the future, you’ll find your route at Skills Scotland.
At the event in 2010 some of the activities that took place included:
Pump it up
Clydebank College did sports demos and amazing make-up for stage and screen, visitors could even try out a career in broadcasting with their media department.
Feeling energetic?
At the EDF Energy you could pedal a bike and see how much power you could create in the Human Power Challenge and discover the diverse range of careers in the energy industry.
Picture perfect
The City of Glasgow College had several stands and visitors enjoyed cooking and sugar craft decoration with their catering students, fitness and balance tests with with their sports students an interactive wall and floor tiling and much more.
Horsing around
Caledonia the giant mechanical horse was popular with vistiors waiting to saddle up and ride to the winning post with horsescotland. They found out about the equestrian industry and all the different career roles.
First aid
Volunteers could sign up with St Andrew’s First Aid who had opportunities available. There were first aid skills demonstrations that could save lives.
Get the edge
The ScottishPower stand gave you a bike and a chance to blow up a balloon with pedal power, or light a standard bulb or a low energy bulb.
Ask The Expert
At Skills Scotland visitors can get free expert advice about everything from starting your own business to writing the perfect CV. With advisers ready to help and discuss your rights, valuing your opinions and getting you involved there were lots of opportunities for you at the 2010 event.
